Flattening the Organization's Structure
In FY2010, the City of Grand Rapids took steps to flatten the organization; the City’s twenty-four departments were reduced to seventeen. Click here to view the new organizational chart.
Reductions in City Employment
The City reduced employment nearly 25% over eight fiscal years between FY2004 and FY2011 from approximately 2,000 employees in 2003.
